The story so far...
-------------------

Computers are everywhere. And one thing links them all together - the internet.However, buried under the surface of this network of data and machines was actually a whole other world. The internet had formed it's own universe generated by the data and information stored on servers and computers all over the world. Some of the data became the landscape and the environment, whereas other smaller bits of data morphed into small, basic creatures, called Digimon. The creatures were all still in their baby forms, and were all relatively harmless. However, as the internet developed and grew, so did the digital world. The land expanded and the creatures also started to develop, and evolve. They even started to build villages and towns to live in. This wasn't so bad at first, but over time, and as the creatures developed past what became known as their Rookie forms, things started to go wrong. The creatures started to fight each-other for land, and slowly but surely this unknown and hidden perfect world became a massive warzone. This wouldn't have been so bad had it remained hidden and out of sight - but this is the internet, a place where things don't stay hidden and unnoticed forever.

The fighting was causing the internet to go haywire - websites would stop working then reappear all scrambled. Web-addresses were being crossed over, so sites were opening under the wrong address. Pages were being mixed up and files were moving from server to server to server like a bee looking for honey. Even the world's best IT experts of Microsoft and Apple were stumped. They suspected something was gravely wrong - but didn't know what or where. Then suddenly, something unexpected happened - all the problems suddenly fixed themselves. All the glitches and faults vanished, and everything started working again as if nothing had gone wrong. Naturally, the IT experts of Microsoft and Apple - who had been working together to find a cure - claimed responsibility for fixing the situation. But nobody in the world knew the true reason... Back in the Digital World, an angel-like being rose from no-where and brought an end to the fighting. He managed to restore peace to the whole digital world, and helped bring an end to the suffering that had come about as a result of the war. The angel digimon was known as Lucemon, and his rule over the digital world helped to restore the lands to the original peaceful lands they once were.

But the problems of the Digital world were far from over. Back in the real world, a group of hackers had discovered this digital reality that lied buried within the boundaries of the internet. They explored it by hacking into the core coding of the Digital World - but in doing so they unwittingly broke a hole in the defences of the world. Moments later, and a dark, cold wave crept over the outer reaches of the Digital World like a shadow. Slowly but surely, bad things started to happen. The outer border lands became dark wildernesses, and the digimon of the area became cold and cruel. Slowly but surely word spread across the Digital World of the troubles in the outer villages, and it wasn't long before Lucemon was informed. Bravely, the powerful angel-digimon headed out alone to investigate the situation. He flew as fast as he could across the land to get there. But as he arrived near the affected areas, he realised that this was a far greater danger than any of the Digimon could have ever imagined. Far greater than Lucemon himself could handle.

However, unknown to Lucemon, the darkness had sensed the presence of Lucemon, and had felt the radiating light and warmth coming from the angel digimon. The darkness wanted to extinguish this light, and so it reached out with the sole intention of destroying Lucemon. But Lucemon was clever, and quickly flew backwards and out of reach of the darkness. Lucemon tried to fly away, but found he wasn't quick enough to stay ahead of the darkness. So, sensing his end was near, he converted some of his strength into numerous little devices known as Digivices. He then threw them into the air, and the devices then flew to primary village and each device embedded itself into a digi-egg. Each digi-egg then was sent through the internet onto the computer of a human child selected at random to help save the digital world. The hopes of Lucemon, and the future of the Digital World, now rests on these chosen children - together known as... The DigiDestined!



Plot-notes
----------

* This isn't based on any particular series - although there will be hints of all the series throughout the RP. Also, bits of it is based off of well-known aspects of The Matrix.
* The idea is that when the hackers were messing things up, a load of computer viruses unknowingly slipped through the broken defences of the digital world, and are slowly corrupting the world and it's inhabitants. But no-one in the Digital World knows this is the cause of the troubles except Lucemon.
* Lucemon was taken by the darkness and is being held captive. Freeing him is the best hope the Digital World has against the darkness. But no-one in the digital world knows where Lucemon is - or that he had been captured. All they know is he left to investigate the darkness and he hasn't returned.
* The infected digimon will be different from their normal selves in that they will be much darker in colour, with a lot of black, and each will have an ear-thing that the Agents had in The Matrix. This means that they are able to work together and instantly communicate with each-other without speech.
* "There is no such thing as Digimon" - this is the view of all in the Real World. So none of the Digidestined had heard of Digimon before.
* Travel to and from the digital world: This can be done freely, whenever any of the Digidestined wish. To get there, you open a digi-gate in any computer. To return, you need to find any of the millions of telephones scattered throughout the Digital World. It will start to ring when you are near to one. Answer the phone and you get transferred back to the real world. While in the digital world, you are made of Data.However, there are trillions of small viruses floating around the Digital World, harmless to digimon as they aren't strong enough to infect them, but can instantly corrupt and infect a human. Also, they are able to sense a human's presence in the digital world within a 4 mile radius. Once infected, a human can't travel back to the real world. Whilst stuck in the digital world, the virus will slowly change you over a proces of between 15 and 20 days, converting you into an evil black monster controlled by the viruses. The gate has built-in protection that gives you a protective encryption that means viruses can't sense you, and you are immune to them. However, it only lasts 5 hours.
* The phones are also vulnerable when ringing, and for 5 minutes after use. They can't be sensed very easily, but if they are then a virus could easily corrupt that phone. If the phone is corrupted before you use it, then using it infects you with a virus and causes you to bounce back to the digital world where you become trapped. Infected phones self-destruct after 5 or 10 minutes.
* Yes, Double-D - you can RP as Terriermon if you want to.
* Digivices are of the appearance of the Season One digivice, except you also have a D-Terminal through which you can e-mail and store digi-eggs (Eggs come much later in the RP - much much later). The digivices are also more high-tech than the season one ones in that they have built-in mobile phone capabilities, have built-in blue-tooth and a blue-tooth hands-free-clip-on-ear-thing. There's also a digital camera on them and PacMan - but only the most intelligent of the group'll ever find out where PacMan is hidden...
* Digivolution: You all start with digi-eggs. They will quickly go through fresh/baby1 -> in-training/baby2 -> rookie. They will then get to Champion only if your character bonds enough with the digimon partner. Ultimate and Mega is more complex. Through our travelling through the digital world we will each encounter what look like gravestones. They only appear for each character when that character shows their particular strength. Like if I had selected courage and my character showed particularly strong courage, then a tombstone with the Courage symbol on would rise from the ground. The character then points his digivice at that tombstone and the virtual data-crest stored within the tombstone then gets transferred to your digivice's internal memory. Each character will eventually get two data-crests - so you'll need two ultimates and two megas in your line. Note that the Digi-Eggs will be the same virtues as the data-crests.
* This will be set in the US as well as the Digital World. Why the US? Because that's where most of our members are from. You can have your character originate from a different country if you wish - but they all need to eventually end up in the same area and neighbourhood and going to the same school to make things easier throughout.
* When writing the opening post to the RP I might need to write-in your characters into the opening post. If this is the case, then I promise I'll inform you first and ask your permission. However, this is just an advance warning just in case I choose to do that.
* IMPORTANT!!!: I need one of you to step forward and help me run this and act as a secondary GM (Game Master). You'd be helping play the NPCs and helping to advance the storyline in the right direction. If there's any extra info that you need about this role, then please feel free to PM me - I'll be happy to answer your questions.

Also - sorry about the size of this post. I was going to cut it down, but I had a mental block and couldn't think of any way to do this.

Character Name: Rai Svenson
Character Age: 18
Character Gender: Female
Character's Appearance: This girl appears to be a bit homely, but she likes it that way. After all, it’s the inner beauty that makes a person… though, she might be lacking in that department too. Rai has dark brown, straight hair that reaches down to her shoulders, but she often keeps it up in a ponytail to prevent it from being cumbersome or a distraction. Her eyes, which are also brown, are often obscured behind her glasses. She stands at a proud height of 5’5” and is a bit lean in build, though she does have some muscle on her from Iaido practice.

Rai is a very plain, conservative dresser, being the type that doesn’t prefer to show off any skin. Typically, she wears a buttoned-up denim blazer over a plain-colored t-shirt (usually white) and jeans. She’s not the kind for jewelry, usually staying away from rings, necklaces, and the like. The only thing she will wear is a watch which is used for its practical purpose rather than show. Her shoes are regular, white sneakers which are a bit browned and muddy from use.
Character's Personality: Rai tends to be reserved in nature and tends to keep to herself; however, she’s not afraid to speak her mind when it needs to be, and usually has unwavering, unyielding opinions. Unfortunately, these opinions often lead her into huge, bitter arguments, and she is never one to apologize or admit that she is wrong. Rai is not intimidated very easily, and, when given the choice, usually prefers to fight rather than run. Sometimes she can be rash in her decisions, which tends to bring danger to others.

She is quite studious and is particularly interested in biology and technology. Every now and then, she likes to make a biological joke whenever she feels that it’s appropriate, “When they say that beauty is only skin deep, it’s quite true… after all, on the surface, you’re looking at dead cells.” Sometimes she can be critical and cynical of others that it tends to persuade her toward hypocrisy. She also has a tendency to have an ego and a feeling of superiority over her peers, and is selective over who and who is not worth her time.
Character's family: Sean Svenson [Father] – Sean use to be a proud member of the U.S. Air Force, but a terrible accident left him paraplegic with terrible burn scars, the most notable one covering the left side of his face. Most of the family think it’s a miracle that he’s still even alive. Afterward, he was forced to go on disability pay which wounded his pride. As a result, he often secludes himself from the rest of his family, which is often very taxing on Rai and her mother.

Aiko Svenson [Mother] – Aiko met Rai’s father in Japan when he was stationed at a military base near her home town. As can be predicted, the chemistry was just right, the two inevitably married, and they moved to the U.S. where Rai was born. Aiko is a nurse at the nearby hospital, so she’s often gone. Even so, she’s a huge impact on Rai’s life, and is often seen as the “glue” that holds the family together, as she often consoles and advises Rai and her father.

Soren Svenson [Cousin] - Soren is a goofy red-headed kid with freckles who is probably the closest person to Rai. He's one of the few people out there who can make Rai genuinely smile. He's a bit of a clown and gets in trouble a lot, but that's because he loves being the center of attention. Rai is quite protective of Soren, and tends to dislike anyone who speaks ill of him.
Character's History: There is nothing much too special about Rai’s past—just a regular student who tries to do well in order to please her family. Originally, she resided in North Dakota, but, after her father’s accident, the family moved somewhere where it was more temperate. Rai is slightly bitter about the change because she is forced to adapt to a new lifestyle. Back in North Dakota she’s been raised in nothing but the wilderness, and now she has to learn how to live in an urban setting. Not only that, but Rai hardly ever sees Soren anymore because now they are states apart. As a result, Rai picked up on Iaido training a couple years back. She uses this as an outlet to control and/or vent her frustrations. Whenever she’s not in school or studying, she can be found practicing at the local dojo.

Now that she is a high school senior, Rai is stressed from the pressure of going to a university with much prestige because there are high expectations from her. Despite the pressure, Rai is looking forward to it because she's more than ready to leave home for a more "constructive" setting. As such, she became the type of kid who overexerts herself by piling on a lot of honors courses. Along with that, she also takes some courses outside of high school at the local community college in order to get ahead. This lifestyle makes Rai feel overwhelmed at times, which explains her susceptibility to snap at others.

Digimon Personality: Rai’s partner tends to be a bit mischievous; he loves to play pranks and make fun of others. If someone was to ask him if he’s trying to push their buttons he would say, “Of course!” This guy is not timid to admit the truth! Unfortunately, he's not afraid of what anyone thinks of him, so he often gets himself into trouble. Fortunately, he's quite clever so he's reasonably good at weaseling himself out of the bothersome situations he gets himself into. When he's not off "prankstering" (as he calls it), he likes to settle down and read.

He tends to be optimistic and cheery in nature which often contrasts with Rai’s cynicism. As a result, they seem to be a very odd duo… then again, don’t they say opposites attract?
Digimon Appearance: N/A – just the regular appearance for all forms.

Which set of crests are being used, as I can't find a list that contains 12 crests. Also, you say we don't know about digimon... do you mean to say that we don't know that the digital and digimon are real, or, that even the media forms of digimon (card game, or, computer game, or digital pet game, etc) don't exist, either?


Character Name: Lasciel (Rachel Hawke)
Character Age: 18
Character Gender: Female
Character's Appearance: Tall and leggy, Lasciel stands in at 5'7" of skin and bones assembled in a lean, boyish build. Her original hair color long forgotten, she currently sports shades of green and brown amongst her short, pixie-like bangs and the locks that hang around her ears and the nape of her neck. Her eyes, too, are rarely seen in their natural state - bright violet contacts obscure any trace of her original color. Only her skin, it seems, is at it's natural pigment - a pasty white no doubt evidencing long hours spent inside and at a computer screen.

Her outfits are far from simple, usually made of many layers of fae-inspired garments in shades of violet or green or brown. Multi-layered and leaf-like skirts with ethereal petticoats sit between thigh and calf length, hovering over bare or flip-flopped feet. Over her abdomen and chest reside some form of tight halter top or flowing blouse, most commonly accented with pixie bell-sleeves starting at the shoulders or elbows and all but obscuring her hands. Her neck often jingles with the sound of half a dozen pendents and trinkets and little beaded necklaces, mildly druidic in nature. Her hands are protected by brown, leather, fingerless gloves and her wrists are ringed with copper bangles. Lasciel carries a brown, leather laptop bag with shiny brass buckles and accents.

Character's Personality: Lasciel likes to keep to herself - a difficult task at a college of like-minded and friendly intellectuals - but won't show outright hostility unless provoked. She keeps a small circle of friends, and tends to stay inside rather than join her peers in activities such as sports, clubbing, drinking, or collaborating on homework. When something interests her, she is quick to learn... and equally quick to judge those unable to keep pace. Easy to anger and prideful, Lasciel can often be... difficult to be around. Which isn't much a problem, with her lone-wolf tendencies.
Character's family:
Mother: Jessica, is your standard, upper-class stay-at-home mother, a down-to-earth woman with more than her fair share of lost hopes and shattered dreams and resentment. This she passed on to Lasciel, but rather than embittering her daughter, she instilled in Lasciel a fierce sense of self-reliance and inner strength. She herself hails from a broken household, a strong reason Lasciel has only interacted with her father's side of the family.
Father: A software engineer under Google, Stephen was among the first to research the random and unexplained glitches plaguing the internet at-large. He brings enthusiasm to everything he does, including his work - one of the many reasons his family lives comfortably in a large two-floor condominium in the East Village, Manhattan. He offered Lasciel her start in computer programming, and despite her... less than ideal path since then, he's offered nothing but support and encouragement towards his daughter. However, much to the annoyance of Lasciel, he still insists on calling her by her birth name - Rachel, or, far worse, Ray-Ray.
Brother: Luke is everything Rachel is not - sociable, reasonable, and normal. He's two years Lasciel's junior, with a penchant for lacrosse and promised admission to Harvard to pursue his career as a lawyer. The two shared a warm friendship, up until Lasciel's arrest; ever since he's regarded her with curiosity and a sheltered fear, rather than the familiarity and kinship of old. Still, the two keep up a tenuous communication consisting of monthly phone chats and the occasional email.
Character's History: Up until 9, Lasciel, then Rachel, was as as any other well-developing child herage - bright, inquisitive, energetic, and sociable. But in 4th grade she encountered her first exercise in 'programming', a simple project using a LOGO-programmed turtle to draw geometric shapes on the screen. That was all the young girl needed to prompt her, and Rachel quickly focused nearly all of her attention and time on making the turtle do more and more complicated things. From there she graduated to BASIC, then to Java, picking up programming like a second language. While Rachel's mom offered mild hesitancy, Stephen offered his full support in helping his daughter develop her favorite hobby, teaching her language after language until Rachel was old enough to seek out knowledge and learn on her own.

At 15 it all went bad.

Her innocent curiosity got the best of her. Rachel adopted the pseudonym Hazard, and turned to the darker side of programming. She was naive, though, and reckless - barely eight months passed before she was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigations for multiple counts of illegal access to computers, stemming from her snooping into government affairs. Her options were juvenile detention until 18, when her sentence would be reevaluated, of offer her skills to secure the same systems she was able to compromise. Rachel took the latter.

The incident, however, ruined what reputation she had left in high school, and Rachel opted for home-schooling to finish up her education. Still, like many others, at 17 she submitted a plethora of applications to various technical-based colleges. Her work with the government finally paid off, then, as she was accepted to pursue a degree in computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Not long after, Rachel adopted the new pseudonym Lasciel, to symbolize her new life in Boston, and severed all ties with what non-familial acquaintances she had back home.

Digimon Personality: Impmon is true to his namesake - childish, troublesome and arrogant, preferring to make trouble rather than make friends. Still, despite this, he wonders why everyone dislikes him, and takes out his frustration on anyone around him, creating a self-perpetuating cycle. Like Lasciel, he places a lot of weight on the importance of self-reliance, even if his curiosity does sometimes... get the best of him.
Digimon Appearance: Unlike other impmon, Lasciel's partner lacks the red gloves and kerchief of his kin, as well as lacking the yellow smiling face on his stomach, instead, having two red, eye-like shapes that glow when impmon becomes truly angry.

About the crests - I forgot to say that you can use any virtue at all - it doesn't have to be one of the ...*counts*... nine? ...used in the various Digimon TV series. There's a list of possible virtues you could use available HERE - it's from another site, so just scroll down to 'Alphabetical by virtue' for a list of different possible ones.

When I say we don't know about Digimon... I mean that Digimon doesn't exist at all. There's no TV series, or card games, or anything. So basically, it's similar to Digimon Adventure in that everyone's starting from scratch without any prior knowledge.




OK - here's my character as promised:

Character Name: Steve Kamtaro.
Character Age: 13.
Character Gender: Male.
Character's Appearance: Steve is a skinny kid but is pretty tall for his age. He has reasonably pale skin and medium-length, straight blonde hair that tufts up in some places, and warm, green eyes. He usually wears a random-coloured open shirt with a pair of baggy blue jeans. He sometimes wears a black t-shirt under the open coloured shirt depending on his mood. He has a necklace around his neck with a small, square glass tag on it, that was given to him by his mother when he was much younger - he's worn it ever since. He also has a small black wristwatch hidden under his sleeve. (HERE's a pic of him - ignore the cat-ears, though...)
Character's Personality: He's a kind, caring, happy-go-lucky, brave, fun-loving kid who doesn't like to take life too seriously. He has a bright and cheery personality most of the time. However, he can be serious when he needs to be, and would defend anyone he called a friend. He is very trusting of those around him, although this can often be a problem as it means that he could be easily persuaded to do something he wouldn't otherwise do. He could even be persuaded to turn against his friends...
Character's Family:
Mum: Steve's mum, Hikari, was Japanese - hence Steve's Japanese surname. Steve cared deeply for his mum, who looked after him better than anyone else. She worked at a computer games company in Japan as a lead programmer, and loved her job. The two of them had a true emotional bond with each-other and were inseperable. That is, until they were seperated. Steve hasn't seen her for many years now.
Dad: Steve's dad, Graham, doesn't care about Steve in the slightest, and most of the time he tends to just ignore Steve and let him fend for himself. Steve's dad was born and grew up in the UK, and later used to work for a car manufacturing company in Japan, which is when he met Hikari. His move to the US meant he had to switch to a different car manufacturing company, and had to work more hours to earn less pay. Steve hates his dad, and often refers to him by name instead of as dad to deliberately annoy him. However, they very rarely see each-other nowadays as Steve had moved out two and a half years ago.
Cousin: Steve has a cousin who lives in Australia, who he sees often. Steve's cousin is called Derek, and is about the same age as him. He has curly brown hair, deep blue eyes, and is usually wearing a brightly-coloured t-shirt and jeans. They get on really well when Derek comes over to stay with Steve. Derek is the only person that Steve truly trusts.Derek is an avid windsurfer and snowboarder - an unusual sport for someone living 'down-under'. His parents (Steve's Aunt and Uncle) work for a highly respected software company, and as a result they earn a lot of money - which is how they can afford for Derek to be able to go on snowboarding trips and to visit Steve in America.
Friend: Steve's friend Jake is a very clever kid - but he doesn't always let it show. His parents were kind enough to allow Steve and Derek to live with them for the last two and a half years, which Steve is very grateful for. Jake is two years younger than Steve and Derek, and has short black hair done up in spikes. He has pale skin and deep blue eyes that could put anyone into a trance. He usually wears a black t-shirt with a leather jacket over it, as well as baggy black jeans with a leather belt on them. He also wears fingerless leather gloves whatever the weather.
Character's History: Steve was born in Japan to a Japanese mother and an English father. His mother, Hikari, was instantly taken by the young boy's cute looks and cheerful personality. However, his father Graham took an instant dislike to him and practically disowned him. So for the first four and a half years of his life, Steve was looked after by Hikari. The two of them used to have loads of fun together, and they really developed a strong bond with each other. These years were the best years Steve ever had, and his memories of these times will last forever. It was on Steve's fourth birthday that things started to go wrong.

Graham had been arguing a lot lately with Hikari on everything - even the most petty thing seemed to end up in a row. Hikari was scared of Graham, and so was Steve. Hikari was worried something bad might happen, so she gave Steve a string necklace with a small square glass tag on it, to remember her by. Then, when Steve was four and a half, Graham decided he'd kidnap Steve and run away to the US in a fit of jealousy at the bond between Steve and his mum, a bond that didn't include him as a father. Steve wasn't ready for the shock of being torn away from his mum so suddenly and abruptly - especially as she had been the only one who had cared about him.

The years went by, and Steve ended up growing up on his own, and learning the lessons of life by his own, as his ignorant dad did practically nothing to look after the boy - almost to the point of ignoring his existence. Steve started school, and somehow made many friends - his bright and cheerful personality turning heads and causing him to become one of the more popular people at his school. He also started to see his cousin Derek a lot - an Australian who lived with Steve's wealthy Aunt and Uncle. After a while, Derek and Steve started to bond together, and within the space of a year and a half, they became the closest of friends. After all, none of Steve's school friends were truly close to him, whereas he and Derek truly trusted each-other, and would lay down their lives for each-other's safety.

This bond of friendship, however, was tested twice. Firstly, when Derek's parents suddenly decided that money was worth more than Derek's life, and threw him out of the house without even an explanation. He eventually managed to make his way to America, and to where Steve lived, and the two lived togethe since. Then, when Steve was 10 - and it was a test neither of them had wanted. It had been Steve's tenth birthday, and Steve and Derek had just got home from a party at a friend's house. Steve's dad had been drinking - heavily - and the flat they lived in was a complete mess. Steve and Derek tried to sneak back to Steve's room without Steve's dad noticing them, but it didn't work. What happened next wasn't pretty. Steve's dad physically attacked the two boys, and did them serious injury. The two managed to escape the flat, but were badly injured. They hobbled over to one of Steve's friends houses, and have been staying there with Steve's friend, Jake, ever since.

However, there are times when Veemon's determination and seriousness can make him seem cold-hearted - although his friendlier, happier moments tend to be enough to prove otherwise.

Pandora's Appearance: Pandora has dark brown hair that looks almost black, which she keeps in a ponytail. Her eyes are a sweet, chocolate brown that are hidden behind a pair of brown glasses. She wears an off-white t-shirt beneath a white, long-sleeved shirt. Over that, she wears a black, button-up t-shirt. Pandora also wears a red and black, plaid skirt over black leggings that tuck into her simple, black slip-on shoes. She carries a white shoulder bag with her that holds her cell phone, iPod Nano, any books that she is reading, and a pad of paper and a pen.

Pandora's Personality: Pandora, nicknamed Pan, has lived a rather sheltered life. She is pretty naive, but she is learning more about the world around her every day. She would rather dismiss the fact that there are bad, evil things in the world than acknowledge that they exist. Despite this sort of outlook, Pan can be extremely stubborn or grown-up when she needs to be. Most of her emotions are to the extreme. She has a habit of daydreaming and can block out the entire rest of the world when she does so. Usually if someone waves their hand in front of her face, she can be pulled back to reality. She has very few friends and usually finds herself all alone at home when she isn't at school. Pandora does the majority of the chores around the house without complaint. She's a good student, though rather invisible because she never raises her hand.

Kylie Rosewood is a typical mother. She worries about Pandora wherever she may be. Kylie works as a secretary for a big company in town, so she works five, sometimes six, days a week. Ever since her children got into high school, she has been working longer and longer hours. Now, the only full day she spends at home is on Sundays.
Father: Daniel
Daniel Rosewood and one of his high school friends created a large company that inspects machine parts. Though he is still at the head of the company, Daniel often travels the world looking for business. He is hardly ever home, but he does send postcards every now and then.
Brother: Charlie
Charlie is Pandora's fourteen-year-old brother. When Pandora and he were younger, they would play together at home. When Charlie got into high school, the time he spent with his older sister dwindled as he began to hang out in town with his friends more often.

Pandora's History: Pandora grew up as a happy child. Her parents always told her that they would be proud of her, no matter what she did. When she was seven, her father started to travel the world for business and came home only once a year. Over the years, her mother has worked longer and longer hours, leaving her two children to fend for themselves at home. Since she was little, Pandora has wanted to become a veterinarian because she loves animals. She also wants to write and publish her own fantasy novel someday. Her family has two dogs (Lollie and Hattie), three cats (Bingo, Sassy, and Stormy), two horses (Lightning and Samantha), four birds (Twitter, Pippy, Pappy, and Martha), and lots of sheep and goats. Pandora isn't afraid to get dirty when working with her animals. At the Rosewood house, there is no cable, so Pandora spends her free time playing with her animals, listening to music, or reading fantasy and science fiction novels. She very muc enjoys surfing the Internet or writing stories on her laptop. She does draw every once in a while, but not very often because she doesn't think she's very good. Wherever she goes, she has to have her iPod, just in case she feels like listening to music. She loves country music, but has started getting into pop music more. When Pandora was five, she discovered a black widow in a pile of wood behind the house. Her mother shouted at her not to touch it, which scared her, and ever since then she has been afraid of spiders. Pandora also doesn't like the dark because her imagination runs wild and she sees monsters in the shadows.

Digimon Personality: Terriermon, who Pandora immediately names Terence because she thinks he is a new pet, has a personality similar to Pandora's except that he is a little more outgoing. He loves stories and will sometimes makes up his own stories just for fun. One of his most favorite things to do is draw and color, so Pandora buys him coloring books to color in. Terence also likes listening to music, so Pandora gave him his own set of headphones and her old mp3 player. Terence refuses to go anywhere without his mp3 player, just like Pandora with her iPod.

Digimon Appearance: Terence looks exactly like any other Terriermon, but Pandora sometimes dresses him in an old, red hoodie so he has a pocket to put his mp3 player.

Character's Personality: In a nutshell, Jade is one of those people who's equivalent to a cat. Her shy, gentle appearance fools some, but actually, her shy face is a sign that she's tired. She's always tired. It might be due to her frequent naps, but she doesn't seem to be fully awake at any time. She's rather passive, and will only do something if one prods her to. She seems to think that the world continues to revolve even if she doesn't, and is perfectly content being where she is even though there might be some nuclear war going on, right under her nose.

She can't be bothered to do things that doesn't concern her, and is rather stubborn to boot. She just won't budge if she doesn't want to. She can get lonely though, without someone to talk to when she wants to, so she's still much like a normal girl minus the laziness. She might or might not eventually develop better traits, but since she's still young, there might be room for changes and development to be forced in by Emerald, her bright and active twin brother.

Ever since she's met Mikkel, she had only really opened up to him, telling him stuff and such that she has noticed and suspects. She seems to have a keen eye for some things that intrigue her, but beyond that, ask her to take not of something, and she'll just fall asleep because she has no interest.

Mother: Merrielle Lee - "She's my mom. Whatever she says is law, and even though I hate doing stuff, she gets me to do 'em. I don't know what she likes, but I once got some flowers for her an' she said she liked 'em. No way I'm gonna go out pickin' flowers any more tho', you learn when you get stung by a bee once. You don' wanna get stung a second time, y'know."
Father: Lawrence Dylan - "That's dad. He loves cooking, and I love his food. He owes me some money and stuff tho', don't remember wha'. Usually he's okay, jus' don't make him angry. He'll blow you up, but cools down just a min' later. Then he'll apologize. Best dad ever."
Sisters: Topaz, Sapphire, Ruby - "Paz is pretty cool. She's the eldest of us all. I don't care wha' she does, but I do love her the best outta all my sisters. She's got a soft spot for me, see? An' I repay her back by givin' her the same. Fair.

"Then there's Saph; she's the second one. She's cheerleadin', and sorta cool. Distant from us tho'. But I understand, she got her own group of gigglin' girls wherever she goes, so she's not home that often. She's an okay girl, turned out okay even tho' I think she been mixin' with the wrong group sometimes. But you make mistakes sometimes, an' then you grow from it.

"The smart, brainy one's gotta be Rube, there's no one else. Ask her anythin', she's got the answer. Rube's younger than me by a year. I think she's considerin' skippin' a grade, then she'll be learnin' the same stuff as us. Great, then I could get 'er to help me sometimes. I just don't want to do work, you know, when those feelings strike ya? I think Rube would help me, she's another good girl right there."
Brother: Emerald - "Merr, well, I dunno wha'ta say 'bout him. We're twins. Then, we're apart by jus' ten min'. Dunno who's oldest though...don't ask me. Can't answer ya. He's good to be 'round, and willing to share too. I guess he learned tha' sharin' is carin', eh? Anyway I'm just grateful ta have him for a twin. Be'er than those no-good guys down on the street there, hangin' out and smokin' pot."

Character's History: Born to a rather large family, Jade and Emerald were the accidental children. If she or her brother were only one child, things might have been different - one extra child is no simple matter, after all.

Jade and her twin were home-schooled, due to insufficient funds or somewhere along those lines. Jade had never bothered to ask. She enjoys being with her brother though, and they're rather close to each other in the sense of friends, not siblings. She sort of looks up to Topaz, her eldest sister, and Ruby, even though she's younger than her.

She lives in the suburbs, almost near the edges. Her parents aren't worried about her mixing with the wrong kind as her laziness more or less prevents her from doing so. She just prefers lazing around in her room, eating chips or curling up for a good nap under her covers. It's a wonder that there's a girl like her when usually, children her age will be running around and playing, enjoying life while they still can.

If one asked her why she doesn't try to do anything, she'll just shrug and look away, before slouching off. She can't even be bothered to do anything without prodding or command. Even if there is, she might just ignore it altogether, unless it's her mother. Recently, she has been listening to Emerald's instructions, so she might be finally coming out of her shell of laziness, but it's hard to tell.

Digimon Personality: Mikkel is a laid-back Digimon, and casual with almost anything. He loves to call Jade "Jaaaaaaaaydeeeeeeeeeeee", with all the syllables dragged out nice and long. Sometimes, it's just a short and curt "JD". It is unknown whether he called Jade these nicknames with the intention of annoying, or as a way of showing his respect for her. He isn't exactly gifted in the wit department, having a tendency to blurt out idiotic and rather...stupid suggestions at times. He isn't fond of fighting, and when thrust headlong into a fight, only one thing is certain: Mikkel will shrug, and get himself out of the way. He just can't be bothered to fight; call it lazy, but he just doesn't have an affinity for fighting.

When his gekirin is activated, however, that's another story...

Character's Personality: Syaoran prefers to use his head, not his fists. He likes to reason out a problem, and find the best solution, as opposed to using the brute-force method. This makes him quite good at solving puzzles, riddles and mysteries. Once he has set a goal, he never gives it up.
Character's Family: Syaoran's father worked in law enforcement, as an investigator. He always had some case to solve, weather it be a missing persons case or an internet crime, even upwards of the occasional murder. He's dead now. Syaoran's mother is still alive, and now a single mom.
Character's History: Syaoran grew up in Alaska, where his father worked as a small-time detective, and his mother worked rescuing injured animals. One day, when he was only six years old, they all moved out to Boston so his dad could accept a job as a big-time police investigator. He has always been homeschooled, causing him to excel in many subjects, though he's also lacking in others. His mother never stopped working with animals, though she of course took time off to homeschool Syaoran. Eventually, Syaoran joined a homeschoolers' association called Voyagers, where he got to interact with others his age, and make new friends. He was a bit awkward for a long time, but now he's finally interacting with others his age, and making new friends. Little does he know his life is about to be turned upside-down....

Digimon Personality: FanBeemon is quite an outgoing and friendly character. He'll always try to make a friend instead of fight, and this has gotten him into more trouble than he would like to admit. Still, he believes most digimon have some inherent good in them.
Digimon Appearance: The gray patches of TyrantKabuterimon's shell are golden, and his wings and the orb in his pelvis are both electric blue, like the glowing blue weapons of MetalLifeKuwagamon.

OK, here's what's gonna be happening...

We have a second Game Master! Digital_Devotion_101 will be helping me run this RP, and will be controlling some of the NPC characters and Digimon that will come up as the RP goes on. However, it also means that DD has the same powers as any other RP GM, which means her word is just as important as mine when it comes to issues regarding post content and storyline direction. A big thanks to DD for volunteering for the role!

Also, we are now going to have 7 main characters (including my own character and DD's character) instead of the originally-planned six - and the spot is already reserved for Pichu.

So - we are just waiting for ShaVee to get his character finished, and for Pichu to post his character up, then we'll be ready to go!

Character Name: Kai Zayin


Character Age: 16 years old
Character Gender: Male

Character's Appearance: Kai has blue eyes, short black hair, has white skin (but tanned), is 6ft 2in and weighs 175 pounds. Kai wears tan cargo pants, a black collard button up short sleeved shirt with black shoes. Kai also wears half fingered biker gloves. With that, he was born in the good old USA.

Character's Personality: Kai is a very nice fellow. He's always willing to help someone no matter who they are. Kai is always cheerful, nice, funny, but has no respect for for those who likes evil. He has a kind heart which gives everyone a second chance no matter what they have done in the past to him or anyone else.

Along with that, he is always wanting to play around. He is more of a no work and let's just play kinda guy till danger arises. He'll also turn everything into a game if it seems like fun.



Character's family: Most of Kai's family is living in Hawaii right now. His parents, his older brother, and little sister all live on the great island of Hawaii. However while he is living in California, he lives with his older sister who take care of him while he attends high school.

Character's History:Kai was born on September 3rd, 1992 in a small rural town called Fresno located in California. He lives out in the country on tons of open land where he has one of the best lives that a lot of people could only wish for.

He has parents that love him and siblings to fight with, but that's what siblings do. When he was born, his parents had given birth to 1 older brother and 1 older sister. After them, his grandmother on his mom's side had disowned his mother as her daughter which got the family a bit angry. No one wanted to talk to his ex grandmother, but that didn't stop anyone. When Kai was three, his parents had given birth to his little sister. They both played together, but the also fought like normal people would.

When Kai turned 5 years old, he attended a elementary/middle school named Washington Colony. During these days, his family was going through money issues. Parents couldn't come up with the money to pay off bills which stressed out everyone including Kai. He had to deal with not getting toys all the time like normal kids, or he couldn't get a new video game here or there do to not having any money.

If that wasn't enough, during those years his grandpa had pasted away which left him emotionally scared as that was the first death of a family member he has ever experienced. This lead to receiving bad grades and lots of getting yelled at by his parents.

From there, Kai starting becoming a computer wiz. He started tinkering with computers and experimenting with home computer networks which later got him excepted into a technology school called the Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART) while attending high school. Schooling in high school was just normal. He would go to class and take notes on all of his subjects, he would hang out with his friends during lunch. Grades were better than in the past, but everything was just normal...till he decided he wanted a change in life........

Digimon Personality: Patamon is like Kai in every way. Patamon is always cheerful, happy, and is never sad. He believes in giving everyone a second chance if he sees that they could make up their wrong doing. Like kai also, he is more of a no work let's just play kinda Digimon until the situation arises.


Custom Digimon: Lazermon and ShadowLazermon are the same. Only difference is ShadowLazermon is the dark or "shadow" version of Lazermon.

Both versions of Lazermon have an attitude of all work no play. When one of these two are around, they don't take smack from anyone and they never give up. With that, they believe in the traditional samurai believes which is you die before you give up which means they will give their life no matter what. If they haven't defeated the enemy, then they haven't won.

Both wear black cargo pants with a black collard button up shirt. They wear military combat boots with black socks. With that, they wear a black duster (western over coat) that touches the heals of their boots with black half-fingered biker gloves and a black cowboy hat with a red bandanna that is wrapped around his forehead (not the top of his head).

His skin is made of silver digi-chromozoid armor that has dents all of the armor that shows how many battles they've been in. Across his chest in ammunition for his 2 Single Action Army revolvers that he uses for his weapons.

Mother: Sandy
Sandy is a loving mom. She makes the kids breakfast before school and she makes the family dinner. She works as a cook at the local diner while the kids are in school.
Father: Paul
Paul is almost never home because he works as a Survival Expert. He has his own TV show where is goes out into nature and survives for a week. He brings his own camera gear where he goes. When he is not working on the show, he is working as a cameraman in England to shoot movies.
Sister: Rebecca
Rebecca is Lloyd's 16 Year Old sister. She helps Lloyd with his homework, and she also likes to play video games with him. She is very smart, and she loves it when he asks her for help with his homework.
Character's History: Lloyd was born in Wales. When he was 2, his family moved to America, more specifically Boston, MA. His sister, Rebecca objected the idea because she had to leave her friends. Two years later, Lloyd made friends with some of the kids in the neighborhood. He didn't realize that they were bad kids until 3 years later when they would steal from stores and houses. His so called friends tried to rob a jewelery store with his help. He wasn't near the jewelery store when it happened and they said the robbery was his idea. He stopped hanging out with them and hung out with his sister more because she couldn't find many friends either. Lloyd did decent in school until 4th grade. He started to struggle with homework because he worked better with a person to help him. For him, he needed a "guide" so that he could see if he was doing his work right. Then his sister decided to help him. That made his life easier and they bonded more. With him getting help from his sister, he got more time to play and spent less time doing homework. That leads up to now with Lloyd in 6th grade and, he has more friends but, he still prefers to hang out with his sister. Nothing really eventful happened this year except for his family almost getting robbed. The people that tried to rob his family were his "friends" from before. They didn't expect Lloyd to remember that they hate getting their clothes wet. Lloyd hit them with a bunch of water balloons and they all ran away, crying about their clothes getting wet.

Digimon Personality: Leormon tries to keep everybody as friends. He is loyal to Lloyd and he will follow Lloyd's commands. He likes to talk and he isn't afraid to speak his mind. Leormon also tells(bad) jokes that usually get him yelled at, and he is willing to fight for his friends. He always knows what is right, and he will do what is right.
Digimon Appearance: Leormon looks like any other Leormon but, he wears a earring(similar to Gatomon's Tailring) on his left ear. He got his earring from Gennai because he is supposed to be the new Guardian of Light but, he doesn't know that yet. His earring makes him slightly stronger and faster.

We have 8 Digi-Destined - more than the originally planned 6, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue... RP shall start as soon as the apps are complete - so watch this space for more up-to-the-minute news!

A couple of things... Not so sure I like the way you've described Jade's family - it says relatively little in quite a roundabout way - but that's just my personal opinion... It's OK for the sake of this RP, though, as you can expand more on that sort of thing within the RP should you wish to... But - one thing... What's a gekirin? Not sure I've heard of one of them before... Anyways - you're now fully, officially, accepted.

Uh, a gekirin is the reverse scale on a Dracomon's body.
When touched, it sends the host into a frenzy and berserk, blind rage.

@ Pichu: Your character's history is a bit... basic... and short... Could you please expand it a bit? Maybe explain the events that surrounded his past a bit more? Also - about the personalities... The character one is passable - but the digimon one is too short and simple. It doesn't tell us enough about the true personality of your character's digimon partner. Could you please expand it, too? Thanks...


Progress so far: we're still waiting for ShadowVeemon to finish his app. Once he's done that, and Pichu's made the necessary corrections, then we should be ready to begin! I'm already working on the opening post for the RP thread now so that I'll be able to post it up the moment we are ready to begin.

Firefly, are we all going to start out in the same town, or from all across the country? If the former, which town? I need to know before I finish my profile.

Also, I know my personality is a bit short. I just happen to believe in flushing my character's personality out throughout the course of an RP, instead of having it all there for me to follow. I find my character always ends up straying from what I put down.

Also, may I ask why we each have two Ultimates and Megas?

I'm assuming the reason we have two Ultimates and two Megas is because we each have two Data Crests. In Digimon Adventure (season one), the Digidestened used their Crests to digivolve their Digimon to the level of Ultimate, right? The same would apply here; you use one Data Crest to digivolve the Digimon into one Ultimate and Mega and the second Data Crest to digivolve the Digimon into the other Ultimate and Mega.

Am I right, Firefly?

About the starting town - we'll all be starting from the same place. So far, most of us have just been generalistic about where our characters are in the hopes that someone else posts a location... And it seems Lazermon has gone for California, so I guess that's our start point...

But I was kinda thinking of getting her kidnapped and shipped to wherever the RP starts. XD

CALIFORNIA!!! California is a cool place if you go to the right places within the state.

I put Lasciel in Boston 'cause, well, I'd have liked to put her in Cali but the equivalent school to MIT out in Cali has a sucky CS program. XP

Though, she could be out in Cali giving a talk over at one of the technical schools out there (*cough cough*Caltech*cough cough*) about CS or the government or not getting jailed or something...

I vote somewhere in the Boston area. The area is rich in history and culture, is near the coastline, and I live in it. :-p

Since we have a tie, might I propose a third option? We could all meet up in the digital world from all around the country. Then when we need to take things to the real world, we could all just open up a digital gate to wherever we need to go.

Hmm... The only problem with that option is that alot of the beginning part of the RP - hatching and raising your Digimon - will be happening in the real world, and travel to the Digital World will come much later in this RP compared to what is normal for a Digi RP. However, I have come up with a plan inspired by your idea...

What will probably happen is that over time we'll group up in three groups, in the three places named so far, and when we all are summoned to the Digital World, we'll do it as our groups, and then the groups can all meet up. That way, we are not truly alone in the first stages of the RP. What do you all think - should we go with this?

Sounds legit. Though, a warning - Lasciel will probably take her first opportunity to go off on her own when she's in the digital world. Computer Hacker + lone wolf = self-imposed isolation. XP

I do like the idea of the groups meeting up in the three different areas. Pan is probably going to be in California, considering that is where I live. It would be interesting for me to try and write her being in Boston or Detroit when I've never been to either before...

What I meant is, why do we have two crests, and two evo-lines? Will something happen to cause us to lose our first crest, or something?
