The Digital World. A parallel universe that exists alongside our own, in secret... almost in it's shadow. The Technological Age was the birthplace of this world, as all data, all information that can be found on the internet itself, has been engraved into the Digital World, taking the form of places... as well as the living beings that exist there.

Those beings, nicknamed "Digital Monsters," or "Digimon" for short, were highly adaptive, evolving creatures, who lived in a way similar to animals--they came in all shapes and sizes, and dwelled within many environments. Additionally, possibly as a result of the sources of their growth and adaption, they became vastly intelligent, rivalling that of the human's own.

Some became too inteligent for their own good. Charismatic Digimon drew others to them, like metal to a magnet. And some didn't have the purest intentions at heart--one such being was a creature known as Devimon. He sought to control the Digital World in it's entirety, and attempted to extend his forces over the whole of the island which he dwelled in.

The organization he had fostered came to be known as "Chaos." It reigned surpreme, with his forces expanding with each passing second, as did his territory. As Chaos' influence continued to spread, another charismatic Digimon took up arms against it, in the one place that Chaos' evil hand had not held in a vicegrip--Freezeland, of File Island. More specifically, the Ice Sanctuary.

This Digimon's name? Angemon. His mission? To rid File Island of Devimon and his followers. His organization came to be named after their home--Sanctuary. Soon after it's formation, a great war that encompassed File Island in it's entirety waged, and Chaos and Sanctuary's forces fought to stalemate, each maintaining half of File Island as it's territory. Losses began to pile up, and the followers of the two groups began to widdle away.

Soon, the fight was carried on by three Digimon--Devimon, and his two followers, Devidramon and Garurumon, and Angemon, as well as his two followers, Greymon and Leomon. The battle that waged finally ended, with the two groups wiping one another out. The bloody war finally ended, with both sides defeated.

However, Devimon smirked, even as he began to fade out of existence. "You may have destroyed my body, Angemon... but my will shall continue to take this world by storm!" his final, chilling words rang true--Chaos and Sanctuary were no more. And there were far more evil creatures in this world than Devimon.

Darkness spread to the four corners of the Digital World--soon, a new Digimon, known as Sangloupmon, rose to power, commanding a legion of stronger, more powerful Digimon as his henchmen. Creatures that bore the appearance of normal Digimon, but bore no hearts or souls... artificial beings who sought only one thing--destruction.

The Digital World's God had once seen the Island dead to the world because Digimon attempted to intervene with the forces of darkness... and sought to see it no longer--the God called out to the parallel realm... to a set of youths, and sought to bring them to the Digital World.

Armed with the legendary Digivice, and partner Digimon to aid in their conquest of Myotismon's controlled areas, a new war is about to be waged... and whether salvation or ruin lay at the end of your path is completely up to you.

Alignment: Evil
Personality: Kai is lively and animated, and enjoys having fun. When she speaks, she usually has some sort of action to go with it and is really cheerful and optimistic. However, that seems to only be a facade for her emotional yet intelligent inner self. She is constantly on the move and never stops; her energy doesn't run out easily. In short, she's a young teenager with a heart and brain, but with a tendency to act on impulse.
Biography: Her hair is usually pulled back in a ponytail and is black with pink highlights. Her eyes are heterochromatic, one hazel and the other a misty grey. Decked out in a topcoat with tank-top underneath and very short jeans, Kai is geared for action with a pair of ankle-high sneakers to complete the outfit. She has a watch on her left wrist and a ring around her neck, a gift from her older brother.

Intelligent and lively, Yume was the live wire of her class and the bane of the school teachers. She loved playing pranks and teasing her homeroom teacher for misplacing his glasses, and at the end of the day, look forward to an enjoyable evening and night with her older brother, Kai. Her parents had passed away after their previous apartment was destroyed as a result of a landslide. It happened when Yume and Kai were at school while her parents were on leave and packing for a family vacation. Left with only her brother, Yume managed rather well and never fell into sadness.

Her brother was the only one that knew how insecure she could be at times. Yet, by forcing herself to embrace a new trait - liveliness - her friends considered her their little ringleader, and they knew her as the intelligent and lively Haikawa Yume. She led her friends to success in tests with her intelligence and them to tears when she had to move as her brother had found a job with a company (that was willing to accept a worker with only high school education) and was posted to a faraway city.

However, the job her brother took up was a dangerous one and he hid the truth from her. Yume was smart and realized their sudden riches meant that her brother was doing something very dangerous; seeing her brother place his life on the line worried her. And the worst that could happen had happened - her brother tumbled home one day, bloodied and mangled. What could she do but phone the hospital and let them do the job?

At the end of the day, her brother's medical report, in all its medical jargon, stated that Kai was badly hurt and had broken bones and was unconscious. Angered and wishing to bring her brother's perpetrator to justice, she took up her brother's name and began to sought out a way to punish the one who drove him to the brink of death. Now bearing the name Haikawa Kai, she has decided to protect her brother's fragile life like he did hers, and rid the world of those who desire to harm her and her family ...

Personality: Zach is a kind and happy kid, on the outside, while on the in he is as mysterious as he appears it would be. He is filled with anger, hatred, and strife. Not only is he large but intelligent though, unfortunately uses it for purposes that would be deemed a good use.
Biography: Zach is a tall kid, being around 6'2", with short blond hair and facial scar running down the left half of his face breaking above and below his emerald green eyes. He wears a sleeveless zipper hoodie, and a white sleeveless shirt with black cargo pants, red shoes, and black fingerless gloves.

He rarely expresses his emotions other than happiness. When he was four his family was brought to an abrupt end in a tragic car accident. He was the only survivor regarded as the miracle child, all he had wrong with him was a deep laceration on the left half of his face.

When found he wasn't even crying, and from that day forward he has bottled in his emotions. Growing up in an orphanage did little to help the situation, as no one wanted a scarred, scary step child. So he tried hard in school rising to the top ten percent of his class but that changed nothing, inevitably only bringing him greater pain. The pain he feels inside himself is described as a great emptiness that has spawned from a merger of all his unfelt emotions stemming from his fear of being alone for the rest of his life. Recently he turned sixteen and he ran away from the orphanage hoping to find a better less empty life. The trip to the digital world is going to allow him to gain better control and understanding of the emotions that he has suppressed in his life.

Personality: Matilda is extremely quiet, speaking only when needed or if caught off guard. Unless you are deemed important to acknowledge in some way, she will otherwise completely ignore you. She never acts on impulse, for every action and every word is planned out. She is also quite the obedient one, and her usual facial expression will be one of a blank slate.
Biography: Matilda wears a simple but lacy stark white tank top covered by a dark violet, long-sleeved shirt, along with a cropped black jacket, with snap-on buttons, that ends just before the elbows and navel. She also wears navy blue skinny jeans and black ballet flats. She is a dark brunette who wears a white headband so that her bangs don’t otherwise hang on her forehead, and her straight hair ends right before her shoulders. She has chocolate brown eyes. The girl also is skinny and overall pale, not athletically built, and stands at 5’ 1’’. She is completely flat-chested.

Matilda grew up in a seemingly normal household with both parents, the middle child of three sisters. She was always the sensitive one, you could say. In what probably pervades families very commonly, but is almost never spoken of or even acknowledged, is emotional abuse, and that is what Matilda endured inside and outside of the household. She was too selfish, too quiet, too loud, too meek, too everything. Her thoughts and feelings were almost always invalidated, unimportant, blown off. Whenever she was outside, seeing other families, other people, she gradually detested the way everyone remained so aloof of the hidden cruelties of the world, of the true nature of people, and did not understand how everyone could be so happy to live. How can you be so oblivious to it all? How can you ignore injustices?

By the time Matilda hit the end of junior high school, she gave up feeling and thinking. Silently, she withdrew from the world, relinquishing her willpower to live. If anything, she drifted and lost her place in being human, losing faith in the simplicity and yet complexity, the ugly beauty that is life. Because, life is always as cruel as it seems, no matter where you go and whom you meet. She decided not to live in that life anymore.

In the Digital World, Matilda’s journey is to slowly find that willpower to live, to believe in the human life once more. She just won’t realize it all until much later in the journey that no matter what you do, you cannot escape being human.

Atlas has always had the finer things in life. His parents have been successful in everything they've been a part of. Since he got his money from them he's been doing nearly as well with his own investments. His success has gone to his head, and as such he has trouble being humble. Receiving his digimon has only made the problem worse. He believes that receiving his partners marks him as being superior to everyone else. His goal is to show everyone on earth how inferior they are to him and others holding digimon.

Personality: The smart and Quiet one. Hikari never speaks unless it is critical and is accurate. She is loyal to a fault and a strong mental thinker. She excels at thinking on her toes and being a step ahead of others. She is always there to help whoever needs her but lately she has been trying to keep herself alive and stress free. She is usually quiet and piecing together something and is usually in deep thought.
Biography: Hikari is the youngest and the only girl in her big family of 6 and is often over looked because of it. She has gotten used to being on her own or surrounded by her much older brothers. Crowds bother her to no end even though she’s from a large family. She got lost in a Festival when she was five thanks to her irresponsible twin brothers. They had been playing pranks on her all day and then near the end they just left her alone. This resulted in separation Anxiety and a full on split personality disorder. She would out of the blue get angry and violent just because her emotions were bottled up or someone looked at her funny. That caused the family to uproot and she was put in a Mental Hospital in Grade Four until she turned 12. She was apparently ‘sane’ enough to leave and given an insane amount of meds and watched by an overprotective and Strict Aunt. Her parents completely disowned her after she was caught beating up her oldest brother for verbally abusing her. That slowly festers after two years and her Aunt fears that She will go ‘Black’ and never go back.

Her journey in The Digital World is to release the darkness from her and become the real Hikari. After all one must get past the negative and heal the scars that are lying beneath or else is doomed to become someone different and pass that point of no return.
